We're certified, and we forgot to celebrate!

Since last April, TerrOïko has obtained Qualiopi certification, which validates the quality of our training programs (and allows the people we train to apply for public funding).

What do we offer? Learn how to use SimOïko, our animal life simulation software.

This is what the teams at the Charente Departmental Hunting Federation (FDC16) are currently doing.

We have been supporting them for several years in carrying out assessments that help them manage their species management and conservation activities. But their goal now is to be able to carry out this work independently.

By the end of October, in just two days of training, they will have explored everything they need to know to be able to run simple simulations:

  • First, learn how to create a land use map (enabling the location of different types of natural environments within the study area) and define habitats suited to the species to be simulated and the operational objectives of the study
  • Next, understand the operating principles of SimOïko (particularly in relation to other ecological modeling solutions) and the methodological and configuration choices on which the simulations are based.
  • Finally, implement simulations in practice, test various configurations, and interpret the results obtained.

This program is also available in three versions, depending on the issues to be addressed: the use of SimOïko applied to species conservation management (module monitored by the FDC16), its use in the eco-design of ERC (avoid, reduce, compensate) measures, or its implementation as a tool to assist with territorial planning.

What's next? Over the coming months, FDC16 already plans to carry out various ecological assessments on small game species (pheasant, gray partridge, red-legged partridge) and to study the connectivity of forest areas for deer populations in Charente. To learn more about our training courses (we also offer programs for advanced use of SimOïko), click here
