Tomorrow, our CEO Sylvain Moulherat will be in Budapest to speak at the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026 as part of the roundtable “Biodiversity in Transport.”
This is now a central challenge for the sector: how can transport infrastructure evolve to better integrate ecological dynamics?
The discussions will focus in particular on:
- integrating biodiversity throughout the transport lifecycle
- nature-based solutions for resilient infrastructure
- tools and methods to reduce ecological impacts
- restoring habitats and ecological connectivity
- co-benefits for climate resilience and human well-being
In this context, Sylvain will speak on:
“Digital twin approaches to manage transport infrastructure natural assets”
He will present lessons learned on the contribution of digital twin approaches to the ecological management of infrastructure, combining:
- cological dynamics simulation (SimOïko)
- cological connectivity analysis
- intelligent monitoring of habitats and species
- monitoring and management tools such as OCAPI
Objective: to better represent and anticipate interactions between infrastructure and biodiversity in order to inform design, management, and restoration decisions at different scales.
This presentation is part of a two-hour session bringing together researchers, infrastructure managers, and European public stakeholders around solutions for better integrating living systems into transport networks.
A key opportunity to show how ecological modelling and digital tools can help evolve infrastructure management towards more integrated and operational approaches to biodiversity.
