Since 2021, Port-Cros National Park has been participating in the Stoechas program, funded by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. This ambitious project aims to compile an exceptional naturalist inventory of the terrestrial flora and fauna within its jurisdiction, stretching from La Garde to Ramatuelle (Var).
In this context, the National Park sought to take things a step further: to develop a shared, scalable, and operational mapping tool capable of integrating data on biodiversity, ecosystems, land uses, and management practices. It was for this purpose that TerrOïko was brought on board.
Our mission: to develop a mapping tool that integrates data on species distribution, vegetation, the environment, and land use in order to formulate biodiversity-focused management recommendations at the level of cadastral parcels, habitats, and ecosystems, thereby optimizing biodiversity management opportunities within the Park’s territory.
A project carried out in collaboration with the Park’s teams and its partners, combining field-based naturalist knowledge with ecological data.
The results of this program will be presented at a scientific conference on June 8 and 9, 2026, in Hyères. We will be in attendance, including Jérémie Cornuau, Director of Research at TerrOïko, who will speak on June 8 at 4:30 p.m. to present a "mapping tool to support ecosystem management recommendations."
We are proud to have contributed to this tool, which serves an exceptional region.
